Furty Furlong - Sat 11th May 2024

Hosted by Kingstone Runners, this is a tough, hilly 3.75 miles (30 furlongs) off-road course in the private grounds of Mapplewell Meadows Farm. Mostly grass with some gravel/shale. Some parts can be muddy at any time.

Another scorching day for the Furty Furlong; better for the after party than for running! Fortunately there was some nice cooling mud on various parts of the course. :)

Furty Furlong 2023

Hosted by Kingstone Runners and generously supported by Hayselden VW (Barnsley).

It was nice and overcast for the race though wet and muddy underfoot. (Note to road shoe wearers: wear trail shoes next year!) Then, as arranged, the sun came out in time for the presentations and after-party at the View Cafe.

Thanks to everyone involved; runners, marshals, helpers and supporters; for making the event a success again this year. A special thanks to Paul and his team at Mapplewell Meadows for their sterling efforts around the course and to the View Cafe and Bottle & Co. for keeping people fed and watered after the race.

Remember, you can walk the area anytime, (as long as there isn't an event on,) and the cafe is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
